Largest Hokie football spread I have ever seen.
Virginia Tech is favored over VMI by 51.5 points. My first instinct is to take the Keydets. My second instinct is asking why are we playing this game at all.

We have more talent on offense than defense.

I get to go see one of the greatest guitarists of his generation tonight in Roanoke. I'm psyched!! Then tomorrow night a quick trip down 81 to watch the Infamous Stringdusters tops it off in Bristol, Tn. A little casino run on Thursday morning then a quick drive back home to the NRV.

A word of caution about this Under/Over
Two years ago and last year Vegas also installed us at 6.5 wins. I, like many, said no freaking way we would fail to cover that bet. I don't wager season U/O's but I would have bet the Hokies the last 2 seasons. Hokies never covered either.
Once more I'll say it again, there's no way the Hokies don't cover this year's U/O. I feel that 7 wins is the floor.
Just my 2 cents.

I recently watched the Amityville Horror.
I recall being scared during the movie when it first arrived. Upon a 2nd viewing it has to be the worst movie ever made.

Just about everyone has us ranked.
I'm looking at way too early top 25's for 2026 and the Hokies are mentioned in about 80% of these stories. Rankings anywhere between 20th to 25th are the norm it seems. One service has us winning 10 games.
I don't get it. We won 3 games last year. Who in their right mind thinks our '26 edition will challenge for the ACC Title, I certainly don't. Our offense will improve, it can't go any lower than last year. Our defense worries me a lot.
I can get on board with 7 wins. 8 wins, IMHO, is our ceiling.
Looking past 2026 is where I see higher ceilings and championship possibilities.
